Ozark Highlands Nature Center Opens in Springdale!

Springdale is celebrating a beautiful new gift to the community: the J.B. and Johnelle Hunt Family Ozark Highlands Nature Center opened to the public on December 11!


This 32,000 square foot gem is the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission’s fifth and largest nature center in the state. Set out across 61 acres, it is the newest place to learn about the natural world and outdoor recreation in Northwest Arkansas.

The J.B. and Johnelle Hunt Ozark Highlands Nature Center is located in the heart of Northwest Arkansas on land donated by the City of Springdale. As a have to highlight the region’s nature beauty, everything at the center and on the property will be used in conservation, restoration and education efforts.


The Ozark Highlands Nature Center will feature:

  • Planned Exhibits 
  • A Quail Restoration Area
  • An Archery Course and Range
  • Nature Trails
  • And More!

Visiting the center is free, but a reservation system is in place to provide safe distancing during the pandemic. For more information visit agfc.com.
