Hosted inside the Barn at The Stonebreaker\, this intimate listening room experience invites guests to slow down\, settle in\, and hear the stories behind the songs from the artists who wrote them. \nAs part of Arkansas Music Week\, our inaugural Lantern Sessions brings together three Arkansas singer-songwriters\, Avery Lee\, Paul Boatright\, and Big Piph\, for an evening of conversation\, live performances\, and the kind of moments that only happen when artists and audiences share the same room. \nDoors open at 6 p.m.\, with performances beginning at 7 p.m. Inside The Barn\, you’ll find intimate seating\, moody lighting\, and a full bar serving beer\, wine\, cocktails\, and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the evening. \nFor those looking to make a night of it\, a limited number of VIP tickets include an exclusive pre-show gathering in The Stonebreaker Members Lounge featuring chef-curated bites and beverages before the music begins. \nWhen the final song ends\, the evening doesn’t have to. The hotel plans to continue hosting intimate music experiences throughout the year\, creating seasonal opportunities for guests and the local community to gather around exceptional songwriting\, meaningful conversation and the unique setting of Markham Hill. Each event will be thoughtfully curated to reflect the season\, the artists and the atmosphere of the hill.

SUMMARY:Barefoot Ball with Chucky Waggs & His Company of Raggs & Ponder the Albatross
DESCRIPTION:Get your dancing shoes or keep them off for the Barefoot Ball! This year\, Chucky Waggs & His Company of Raggs and Ponder the Albatross will be bringing the tunes! \nChucky Waggs is a multi-instrumentalist\, singer-songwriter\, and recording artist based in Eureka Springs\, Arkansas\, known for his energetic one-man-band performances using guitar\, banjo\, dobro\, harmonica\, and even a makeshift foot-powered drum kit. Rooted in early American blues\, folk\, country\, and bluegrass—alongside punk and rock influences—his music ranges from intimate\, often humorous ballads to rowdy\, high-energy stomp-alongs\, frequently joined by his backing group\, the “Company of Raggs.” \nPonder the Albatross is a high-energy band where gypsy punk\, jam\, and newgrass collide\, driven by Josh Bower’s mandolin\, guitar\, and vocals\, Luke Lindholm’s fiery fiddle\, Eric Vrtis’ rolling bass\, and Nick Bower’s dynamic drumming. Formed in 2015\, the group has built its reputation on the road\, performing across the U.S. and the Rocky Mountains with electrifying shows that pull audiences into an immersive\, participatory experience. Their sound blends upbeat rock and grass influences with a free-spirited\, wanderlust-driven ethos\, channeling the essence of mountain life and the natural world into music that feels both adventurous and deeply rooted. \nMore Info>>> OzarkFolk.com

SUMMARY:Space to Breathe Women’s Astronomy Retreat
DESCRIPTION:NWA Space and Science Announces “Space to Breathe” Women’s Astronomy Weekend Retreat\nNWA Space and Science is inviting women from across Northwest Arkansas to slow down\, step away from the demands of everyday life\, and spend a weekend immersed in the natural beauty of the Ozarks during its inaugural Space to Breathe Women’s Retreat\, September 11–13\, 2026.\nHosted at Little Sugar Farm near Jane\, Missouri\, the three-day retreat blends astronomy\, nature\, and relaxation into a one-of-a-kind experience designed to help participants reconnect with the outdoors—and themselves.\nLimited to just 12 guests\, the retreat features luxury glamping accommodations\, chef-prepared meals\, guided telescope viewing on two evenings\, astronomy presentations\, campfires\, and opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities and quiet time surrounded by the beauty of the Ozarks. Whether you’re an experienced stargazer or simply looking for a peaceful weekend away\, no astronomy experience is required.\nUnlike a traditional conference or wellness retreat\, Space to Breathe uses the night sky as a backdrop for learning\, reflection\, and connection. Participants will spend their days exploring nature and their evenings observing the sky with astronomers and experienced volunteers from NWA Space and Science.\nThe retreat also supports the nonprofit’s mission of expanding access to science education and community programming throughout Northwest Arkansas. Proceeds help fund public astronomy events\, STEM outreach\, educational programming\, and the organization’s long-term vision of creating a permanent Space & Science Center for the region.\nRegistration is now open\, and because of the intimate nature of the event\, space is extremely limited.
