Three Northwest Arkansas cities are ranked in the 2020 Top 20 Places for Bikes by PeopleForBikes, America’s largest bike advocacy organization.
The latest accolades are part of continued recognition for Northwest Arkansas as a world-class mountain biking destination!
In Bella Vista, cyclists flock to the high-profile Back 40 Trails built in 2016 by some of the country’s most talented mountain bicycling trail builders.
Fayetteville, which along with Bentonville is a Regional Ride Center designated by the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA), is home to hidden gems like the bluff-lined trails at Kessler Mountain.
And in Rogers, the Railyard Bike Park is a best-in-class jump park that is the only one its kind in this part of the country.
Bentonville and Springdale also showed well in the PeopleForBikes rankings. The study evaluated 567 cities across the U.S. and scored them on five key factors: ridership, safety, biking network quality, community reach, and biking infrastructure growth.
Over the past decade, NWA has invested heavily in its cycling trail infrastructure and the region now boasts 250+ miles of off-road trails praised by locals and visitors, alike.
Cities, too, have developed their own networks of paved/shared-use trails that link to the 37-mile Razorback Regional Greenway – a paved/shared-used trail that meanders across the entire region, connecting to downtowns, amenities, greenspace and neighborhoods.
