Halloween in NWA: Trick, Treat and Be Scary!
Halloween is a spooktacular time in Northwest Arkansas! With intense haunted houses, ghost tours and ghoulish gatherings for grown-ups, plus family trick-or-treating, pumpkin patches, and other wholesome festivities – we’ve gathered up some of the best (and most outrageous!) ways to have fun this Halloween!
One of the most terrifying haunts in Arkansas! Located in an abandoned slaughter house, with dozens of live actors closely watching your every step, there is a terrifying new jump around ever corner!
A four-state favorite! This intense, high energy haunted attraction brought to you by the Bentonville Lion’s Club has been making nightmares come true in NWA since 1987. Board the Phantom 13 Bus for a nighttime ride past a bona fide cemetery to the haunted house, which takes frightening to the next level!
Voted #2 best haunt in Arkansas by The Scare Factor in 2017, and it’s even scarier this year! Not recommended for the young or faint of heart….Mua ha ha ha ha!
The one time of the year when you can see the animals of Turpentine Creek at night. Turpentine Creek refuge turns into open-air haunted house for this annual moon-lite event with crazy decorations, costume contests, hayrides, giveaways, music and the big cats growling in the dark.
Part of the Downtown Springdale Alliance’s annual Ozarktober Fest, celebrate with friends and family for a free night of carnival games, costume contests and candy giveaways!
Wholesome, spooky fun! Wear your costume for the 5k around town, followed by pumpkin decorating at an onsite pumpkin patch, costume contests, inflatables, Truck or Treating with Bentonville police and fire departments and more.
With 16 acres of corn and hay mazes! Pick your own pumpkin, test your skills with the pumpkins sling shot and corn cannon, and take selfies with miniature donkeys and other cute baby animals at the petting zoo!
Hosted by Experience Fayetteville, trick-or-treaters and their families are invited to the historic downtown square to visit booths and area businesses where city employees will hand out treats. Free and open to the public.
With a 9-acre corn maze, a pumpkin patch, pig races, pony rides, farm animals, and wagon rides. Groups are welcome!
Drop in for tricks or treats and trek through history. With best costume contests with prizes in six categories!
CREEPING IT REAL:
This time of year gives Eureka Springs yet another reason to showcase its fun-loving, zany side! With hordes of zombies, underground walking tours, drag shows, dances and everything in between, no other city does Halloween like Eureka!
The Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs is famous for its nightly ghost tours of hotel guests who “checked out but never left.” Famous spirits include:
- Michael, an Irish stonemason who fell to his death while building the hotel in 1885;
- Theodora, a cancer patient who seems to need help finding her room key;
- Norman Baker in his white suit and lavender shirts;
- And Morris the Cat, who appears in the luxury suites at the foot of your bed!
“Hollywood Horrors” is the theme of this year’s Artinfusion costume party bash. Museum members can hit dance floor and groove out to the sensational mixes of DJ Werewulf. Enjoy the main stage show from Native American sketch comedy group, The 1491s, as they portray the realities of an Indigenous experience through humor.
Join Janet, Riff Raff and all the gang! Dress in character and bring your own props for an interactive showing of this campy film favorite. Live music and specialty drinks prior to the show.
