10th Annual Artosphere Festival Coming to NWA

Arkansas’ Arts + Nature Festival presented by Walton Arts Center is coming to NWA on June 10-29! With performances inspired by the infinite wonders of the universe and the fragile beauty of our home planet, the Artosphere Festival is fun for the whole family!

The 2019 Artosphere Festival gives families many free and low-cost opportunities to explore nature and art. This year’s space theme honors the 50th anniversary of man on the Moon! Space is a source of wonder, innovation and artistic inspiration, inviting us to explore and learn. Here are some of the highlights of the festival:

Family Fun on the Frisco Trail

Bring the whole family down to Fayetteville’s Frisco Trail for an Artosphere signature event, Trail Mix. This free event on Friday, June 15, features pop-up concerts, games and educational fun along the trail from Meadow Street to Wilson Park.

Trail Mix will be followed by a special screening of the Disney film WALL-E in Walton Arts Center’s Walker Atrium and a planetarium experience in Starr Theater.

Songs, Stories and Stars Around NWA

Don’t miss the family-friendly concert at the Botanical Garden of the Ozark’s Terrific Tuesday event on June 11. It will be full of tongue twisters, mind-benders and instantly identifiable slices of a kid’s life performed by four-time Grammy®-nominated musicians Trout Fishing in America.

Ozark Natural Science Center in Huntsville is hosting Stars and Songs by the Fire, an evening of campfire fun on June 22, with s’mores, outdoor story-telling, acoustic music and stargazing. Dinner, lodging and breakfast are available.

Family-Friendly Film Series

The Artosphere Film Series returns this year June 28 and 29 with free showings of classic movies including Apollo 13, based on the events of the Apollo 13 lunar mission; the 1982 science fiction film E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial; and Steven Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind. All movies are free and will be shown in Starr Theater.

Artosphere: BELLA GAIA

Discover what it’s like to be an astronaut when Artosphere: BELLA GAIA takes the stage on June 13! This award-winning, awe-inspiring immersive multimedia performance combines projected NASA images, stirring world music and dance live on stage.

Chapel Music Series

Set within the most beautiful spaces in our region, Artosphere’s Chapel Music Series will stir audiences and refresh spirits with music from these renowned quartets and folk ensembles.

AFO: Off the Grid; AFO Live from Crystal Bridges: Mozart in the Museum
Artosphere Festival Orchestra

An outstanding, world-renowned group of musicians known as the Artosphere Festival Orchestra return under the baton of Maestro Corrado Rovaris, Opera Philadelphia’s music director. AFO will perform these can’t-miss performances!
