Pea Ridge National Military Park
A decisive Civil War battle took place here on March 7-8, 1862, when more than 23,000 soldiers fought to decide the fate of Missouri, just over the state line. The only national military park in Arkansas, this 4,300-acre, historically significant site includes a visitors center with interactive exhibits, historic buildings, picnic areas, a driving tour, and trails for horses, biking and hiking.
